John Hughes has been publishing non-fiction books since 1985 - his first was a beginners' tutor on how to play electronic keyboards called Keyboard Magic and How to Achieve It. Then in 2016 he turned his hand to fiction and has since written three novels and a collection of short stories. Initially published in print, all are now available solely in eBook format (Kindle).

John was born in the English Midlands, studied music at London University in the 1970s, and has made a living in a variety of ways including selling pianos in Harrods, playing keyboards in bands, editing a magazine, as a recruitment consultant, and most recently as a data protection officer in the NHS. He is now happily retired and lives in Surrey.
